Nextiva vFAX security tips

Phishing is the practice of sending emails that appear to be from a reputable company to get recipients to provide personal information. These emails attempt to get the recipient to click on malicious links that may install malware or steal user credentials. It is a persistent issue across email platforms, and we want to help our customers avoid becoming victims.

If you suspect you have received a fraudulent email or text message that appears to be from Nextiva or any other company, follow these steps to ensure your safety:

  1. Before opening any emails from companies, we recommend you verify the sending address to make sure it is from a legitimate domain. For example, if you receive an email from Nextiva’s vFAX service, the sender should be [email protected].
  2. Verify the legitimacy of the email by hovering over any links within it. The legitimate links contain the URL for that company. In our Nextiva vFAX emails, the hyperlink for “Click here to view this message online,” will contain https://fax.nextiva.com/xv/.
