Tomato Wireless Settings Configuration

In order to set up wireless access on a Tomato router you will first need to access the router itself, you can do this by typing in the IP address of the router into your web browser. The default IP address for a Tomato router is 192.168.1.1.

Log in to the router with the following information:
Username: admin
Password: admin

Go to the “Basic” tab and select the “Network” sub-tab. You should see a section within this area labeled “Wireless”, pictured below.
You will then want to verify and create the following settings:
Enable Wireless: On
Wireless Mode: Wireless Client
Wireless Network Mode: Auto
SSID: This will be the name of your wireless network, you can make this whatever you prefer.
Security: WPA2 Personal
Encryption: TKIP
Shared Key: This will be your wireless password, you can make this whatever you prefer.

Click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.

From there, go to the “Advanced” tab and select the “Wireless” option.

There is a setting labeled “Afterburner”, enable this to ensure you get full wireless speeds.
