Bandwidth requirements with Nextiva Trunking

If the necessary bandwidth requirements are not met, your phone calls may experience poor audio, broken audio or a delayed conversation.

If you are unsure what your current bandwidth speed is, go to http://voiptest.nextiva.com/ to test your system.

After obtaining this information, you will be able to create a picture of the bandwidth available through your Internet connection and make the determination of whether there is enough bandwidth to support the desired number of simultaneous phone calls. If there is not enough speed or you are coming close to using all of your available bandwidth at any one time, you’ll want to work with your Internet Service Provider to increase network speeds.

If you intend to run 9 phones through Nextiva’s SIP Trunking service, for example, your network will need at least 900kb for the upload speed and 900kb for the download speed to operate all desired phones simultaneously. Please note that any other devices on the network, including computers and printers, will also utilize bandwidth.
