Most routers work with Nextiva’s network after entering the Nextiva firewall rules, while some routers require further configuration. Nextiva’s Amazing Service Team will always attempt to make the network function as-is before making any recommendations to improve the quality of service.
Many routers provide residential-grade service that is great for home use but not robust enough to provide quality business-class service. Additionally, some routers in the market have reached “end-of-life,” where the manufacturer no longer supports them due to their age and technology limitations.
Nextiva recommends using the following routers:
- Sonicwall TZ Series
- NETGEAR Nighthawk X10 Router
- Asus RT Series
- NetGear ProSafe
- Linksys EA8300 Max-Stream
- Cisco 900 Series
- Sophos UTM
- ZyXEL ZyWall
- WatchGuard Firebox T35
- FortiGate 52E SMB Firewall
NOTE: This is not a comprehensive list and may change based on firmware updates, end-of-life determination, or other reasons. Routers and firewalls consistently receive updates, which may render network devices incompatible with Nextiva.
