Nextiva (www.nextiva.com), an industry leading cloud-based communications provider, announced today that it has been honored with the Spirit of Enterprise Award from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business.
Nextiva CEO Tomas Gorny will accept the 2018 Spirit of Enterprise Award at the Economic Club of Phoenix (ECP) speaker series at 11:30am MST on October 2, 2018 at Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, where he will share his unique journey and lessons learned in launching such companies as IPOWER, SiteLock, Nextiva, and more.
As Arizona’s premier celebration of entrepreneurship for over two decades, the Spirit of Enterprise Award is presented annually to Arizona-based companies that have positively impacted the economy while also exhibiting ethics and entrepreneurial excellence. Unlike past years, when awards were given through a nomination process, this year the business school chose Nextiva as the recipient of the 2018 Spirit of Enterprise based on merit alone.
“It is my great pleasure to award Tomas Gorny and Nextiva with the 2018 Spirit of Enterprise Award,” said Dr. Amy J. Hillman, Dean of the W.P. Carey School of Business. “For 22 years, we’ve recognized ethics, energy, and excellence in entrepreneurship through this award, and Mr. Gorny and Nextiva exemplify all of these qualities. Mr. Gorny’s journey — from a humble start in the U.S. as an immigrant to founding multiple highly successful, million-dollar companies — is especially relevant and inspirational today.”
“I am excited to accept this award on behalf of Nextiva,” said Tomas Gorny. “It is truly a tribute to every team member and represents the daily effort of the roughly 1,000 people who have built Nextiva from the ground up over the past 10 years. We are proud to operate in Arizona, and to continue to contribute to the vitality of this thriving business community.”
Under Gorny’s leadership, Nextiva is one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the nation, growing from 12 employees in 2008 into a thriving technology company with over 1,000 employees and more than 100,000 customers. The company’s success stems from its mission to democratize technology with solutions like business phone service and NextOS, the all-in-one communications platform.
